Who we are
This website, javelark.com, is run by JAVELARK, a software company that builds custom software and web applications for businesses and is developing its own product, Numpelia. In this policy, “JAVELARK”, “we” and “us” mean JAVELARK. We decide how the information described here is used.
This policy covers the website and its forms. It does not cover Numpelia itself, which is not yet available and will have its own privacy terms, or software we build under a separate agreement with a client.
What we collect
Information you send us
We only collect personal information when you choose to send it through one of our two forms, or by writing to us directly.
- Contact form: your name, email address, company (optional), the topic you choose (optional) and your message.
- Project brief: your name, work email address, company (optional), the type of project, its current stage and timeline (optional), the software you use today (optional) and your description of what you need.
With each submission we record the date and time it was received and its handling status (for example, new or replied). Please do not include sensitive information, such as health or financial details, in a form.
Technical information
When you visit the website, our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes the technical information that every web request involves, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Request logs are kept by Cloudflare to run the website, diagnose problems and protect it from abuse.
Usage statistics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used, for example which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and what type of device and browser they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and receives information such as the pages you view, your approximate location (derived from your IP address) and your device type. We use these statistics in aggregate to improve the website, not to identify individual visitors.
How we use it
We use the information you send us only to:
- read and reply to your message or project brief;
- discuss a possible project with you, and prepare a proposal if you ask for one;
- keep a record of our correspondence with you.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list. We process it because you asked us to respond, and because we have a legitimate interest in handling business inquiries.
Storage and service providers
Form submissions are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our own API and stored in our database. Both run on Cloudflare, which hosts this website and acts as our service provider. Submissions are not readable through the website or the public API; only people at JAVELARK who handle inquiries can access them.
When we reply, your message and our correspondence also pass through our email provider. Usage statistics are processed by Google, which provides Google Analytics. We do not share your information with anyone else, except where we are required to by law.
Where it is processed
Cloudflare operates a global network, so website requests may be handled in a data centre near you. Our form database is located in Cloudflare’s Western Europe region, and Google may process analytics data in other countries, including the United States. This means your information may be processed in a country other than your own, including countries with different data protection laws.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiries for as long as we need them to respond to you, to follow up on a possible project and to keep a record of our correspondence. We do not delete them automatically after a fixed period, and you can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Security
Information is sent to us over HTTPS and stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Submissions cannot be read through the website or the public API, and access to them is limited to the people at JAVELARK who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you send us.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to:
- ask whether we hold information about you and receive a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is wrong;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it.
To make a request, email contact@javelark.com from the address you used, or tell us which address it was. We may need to confirm that the request comes from you. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your country.
Links to other sites
The website links to other services, including our profiles on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X, WhatsApp, the share buttons on articles, and websites we have built. Those services only receive information about you if you choose to follow a link or contact us through them, and their own privacy policies then apply.
Children
The website is meant for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when the way the website handles information changes, and change the “last updated” date at the top. If we make a significant change, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
